We would like your holiday at Mistletoe Cottage to be home-from-home, whilst enjoying and exploring this beautiful and peaceful area of western England.
From the moment you open the door to your home for a few days, you will feel welcomed and relaxed. Our quirky style of holiday home has facilities that you expect, and a few that you might not.
Take some time to look around, read about the facilities and the area, as you make plans for your time away from your normal lifestyle.
Put the kettle on, make yourself a cup of tea, open a packet of biscuits and relax in our sumptuous armchairs and sofa, as you rest a while to appreciate your journey here and your expectations of the week ahead.
Our information pack provides you with some local knowledge about the best places to buy food – at local farm shops, local food shops, convenience stores, and of course, some specialist delis to treat yourself to something a little different.
Grocery delivery is available from Waitrose.com, Sainsbury.com and Tesco.com, but Ocado.com do not yet deliver to our postcode.
5 minutes to Eardisley for groceries and news, or 10 minutes drive to Oakchurch Food and Country Store.
We have included bars and restaurants in our guide. Some we’ve tried; others we haven’t, but we welcome your feedback to give to other guests to Mistletoe Cottage.
Our shepherd’s hut is now available for booking, for one or two people to sleep overnight. In the hut, there is a sofa, which opens up to a double bed with a comfy thick mattress, a wood burning stove, and a kettle with mugs. There’s also a flask for you to bring milk and keep it cold.
A separate toilet, shower and washbasin are available in the cottage for users or the shepherd’s hut on the ground floor of the Cottage.
Linen and Towels are not provided for the shepherd’s hut, and you should arrange to bring your own sleeping bags, towels, etc. for each person staying overnight. Please do not take linen or towels from the house for people staying in the hut.
The cost is £20.00 per person per stay, and you can book each person with your main booking.
The hut is only available to book as an addition to the main booking of Mistletoe Cottage and cannot be booked or used independently.
If you are staying at the Cottage, but with no-one staying in the hut, it can be used to sit in, and enjoy relaxation in the garden with evening drinks, etc.
You are welcome to use the FirePit during your stay, and to use the deckchairs which are stored in the Shepherd’s Hut.
Please pay attention to the instructions for safe use of the fire pit, which are in the Shepherd’s Hut and in the Welcome File.
Coals or BBQ Charcoal may not be used in the fire pit. It is only to be used with wood kindling and logs. Light the fire, leave to settle to embers, then you’re ready to cook. Once you’ve finished cooking, move the barbeque platform away, and enjoy the warmth as the evening draws in.
Do not put the fire out. Leave to die down for at least an hour before you turn in, and before you leave, place the lid carefully on top, to avoid fire risk.
Please do not allow children to use the Firepit on its own; make sure they are supervised, and be safe when using it.
Your up-to-two well-behaved dogs will love this area and are welcome at Mistletoe Cottage, but we do ask that they behave almost as well as the humans.
It’s their holiday too, so be sure to take them to some of the great attractions of West Herefordshire.
Please do not allow your dogs to go upstairs. They should remain on the ground floor.
Please let us know the names of your dogs who will be coming with you, and they will feel at home as soon as they arrive.
